Relics of Female Serial Killers

1808 – Mary Bateman– Yorkshire, England

After her execution, her body was put on public display with strips of her skin being sold as magic charm to ward off evil spirits. Bateman's skeleton is on display to the public at Thackray Museum in Leeds.

1816 – Rachel Clark– Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA

She was publicly executed in Carlisle some fifty years ago [in circa 1816]. Her body was got possession of by Dr. Geddis, of Newville, Pa., who had the bones put on wires and set up in a box in his office, where there remained for many years, and possibly may yet be seen in the same town.

1829 – Lucretia “Patty” Cannon– Dover, Delaware, USA

Her skull (presumed) was preserved and later donated to the Dover Public Library, which occasionally places it on public display.

1831 – Gesche Gottfried– Bremen, Bavaria, Germany

Death mask on display at Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Bremen.

1835 – Frances Billing & Catherine Frary– Norfolk, England

Death masks of both on display at Norfolk Castle, England.

1908 – Belle Gunness– LaPorte, Indiana, USA

On display at the LaPorte County Historical Society and Museum (Indiana) are teeth were found in the rubble of the burnt farmhouse. Belle Gunness' dentist  claimed they were Belle's teeth and that the headless body of the woman found in the  fire could be Belle's. But witnesses said the teeth were planted there.

1941 – Leonarda Cianciulli– Italy

The kitchen utensils she used to murder, dismember and cook her victims are on public display in the Museum of Criminology in Rome (Museu de Criminologia de Roma).
