Peter Vronsky’s 1997 list of female serial killers includes 27 who were executed: Barfield, Beets, Brinvilliers, Buenoano, Cage, Chesham, Cotton, Dazely, Dean, Deshayes, Dyer, Flanagan, Freeman, Gottfried, Hahn, Higgins, Jegado, Joyce, Lipka, Marek, May, Milner, Rendell, La Tofania, Margaret Waters, Catherine Wilson, Zwanziger.
The following list contains 76 cases of female serial killers who have been executed. An addendum contains cases in which the death penalty was ordered but was either commuted or in which the prisoner is awaiting execution.

1937 – Moulay Hassen (Oum-el-Hassen, or Umm-el-Hassan, alias Léonie Vallon) – sentenced to death by guillotine in Fez, Morocco. It was discovered in Dec. 1938, that in Nov. 1937 her execution was staged and falsely reported as the result of her great political influence and that she was alive and soon to be released from prison.
